Bauma 2022, the 33rd edition of the world's leading trade fair for construction machinery and materials, mining machinery, vehicles and construction equipment, will be held in Munich from October 24 to 30.
A very high level of participation is expected this year: 97 percent of the available space in the halls has already been confirmed by exhibiting companies.
The exhibition was originally scheduled for April, but due to the uncertainty generated by the global pandemic, the organizer was forced to postpone the event.
Klaus Dittrich, President and CEO of Messe München, is optimistic about the upcoming fair: "Exhibitors and visitors are looking forward to face-to-face talks and, of course, to the special atmosphere that only bauma can create. I am really confident that the situation will soon be improved to the point where we will be able to put on an exciting bauma that will attract a large number of international companies and visitors."
Exhibition space: 614,000 m²
Number of exhibitors: 3,700, including 2,400 from 63 foreign countries.
Number of visitors: 620,000 from 200 countries.
Topics will be covered by exhibitors, the supporting program and the show's first webinar series:
The webinar series will begin in March and will be conducted in English. Industry experts will use the new format to take an in-depth look at key topics at bauma.
The company says this year's Bauma will see particularly strong representation from the mining industry, with exhibitors including BHS Sonthofen, Herrenknecht, Komatsu, Liebherr, Schulte Strathaus and Zeppelin Baumaschinen. Also returning will be Minearc Systems from Australia, a key market for the mining industry.
For years now, the fair has been seen as the world's leading innovation center thanks to the large number of technological innovations that exhibitors present there.
LAB0 is the name given to the innovation pavilion, an area that will include special areas such as the bauma Forum, virtual reality, MIC 4.0, startups and a science hub. A program that promotes talented young people called Think Big will also be introduced, will be included as a key theme for the industry.
